Do lectures, on average, start with a bigger number of people and then gradually get smaller? What were your experiences?

Im only going into 2nd year so experience is limited, but some modules are done by those studying across various subjects from archaeology to history etc, so lets say a "study skills in humanities" has large lecture sizes and use a bigger room to fit that...as is a compulsory module to many degree schemes. However if a module is just in 1 specific degree program or is not as popular as other choices on offer, then the class size will be a lot smaller.

That's good to know, thanks Did you enjoy your first year? What did you enjoy the most? Meeting people, course, surroundings or was it all just as good?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions =)

Haha no worries questions are good, helps to know all you want to

Definitely enjoyed my first year. Was a bit skeptical on how the workload, lectures and other aspects would all slot together as was previously an Open University student for a while but was all for nothing as was a seamless transition and once in the routine was straightforward to keep on top of.
The course was really good, but my attitudes and tastes changed throught the course....finding that the bits I most anticipated werent as gripping as the areas which I thought would be tedious, which was a very welcome surprise.
The people. Well I made friends, then branched out further into what interested me and began socialising and exploring and getting more involved and was an amazing experience. Lampeter can be quiet at times, like eerily quiet....yet at others its deceptively lively and always seeming like theres something going on or a party, folk night in the local pub anything really....so it is a good experience all round. By the end of the year can safely say I made some really close friends and was a great year.
As for location, Im from Luton...so more used to the concrete and built up urban areas, so for me Lampeter is a dream to get away to (Currently counting the days until I am back). It is essentially like living in a 'bubble', a term that am sure many will use....but such a statement being a good thing. So much countryside to explore, the hills, the lake.... just a peaceful environment.

Haha....so to answer your question: aspect I enjoyed the most, I guess it would be that combination of all of it. That its peaceful yet lively too, full of friendly people and in a nice area of the country.

The way you describe it reminds me of the place where the Hobbits lived in Lord Of The Rings. It was set in lovely countryside, close community, peaceful but lively... Oh with a lake as well, a slightly bigger one at that.

Sorry for taking a while to reply i was walking my dog

Haha had no idea I'd portrayed it to look like that, but can kinda see the similarities... and have actually seen a few dressed as hobbits on campus
