New Swansea Accommodation - Seren and True Swansea

Hi there
Today I was given the option of adding these 2 new accommodations to my application.
Does anyone have any input on whether these are better than Bay campus, and if so which one out of the 2 is better.
+ being able to socialise/party with lots of other freshers is important for me.
++ Modern accommodation would be nice, but being around social people my age is most important.
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks

Seren and True are very new accommodation blocks near the city centre. Ty Nant is also opening in September. These blocks are closer to nightlife and shopping than the Bay. The advantage of the Bay is that the accommodation whereas Seren and True are roughly 15 minutes by bus from the campus. The advantage of these private halls is their proximty to nightlife and shops. Ty Nant is over the road from Seren and both are right by the station. There is a small Tesco, Greggs and coffee shop underneath Seren.

I was just choosing accommodations and I've prioritised singleton campus with an ensuite as thats where I have my classes then bay campus with an ensuite. I was thinking of putting seren and true after these but I don't want to if there arent going to be any first years there around 18 years old. Does anyone know of there are going to be?
Thanks

Hi, i'm currently a student in swansea in first year!

My advice: Stay on bay. The accommodation at Seren/True are nicer (imo) but first year is important for socialising. You'll find it harder to make friends if you live off campus. Living on campus makes it easier to meet people, go to last minute/spontaneous gatherings/parties/events, and generally interact with more people in your year. I know plenty of people who live off campus, and they always wonder how I know so many people haha, and this one friend at seren hardly knows anyone. Also staying on campus means you won't have to worry about going back home late from the library/a friend's or from a party etc

There is absolutely no reason someone in Seren cannot meet people. There is nearly 800 rooms there and there will be students of all years and also students from UWTSD. A lot depends on someones personality and they are far closer to the nightlife in the city centre. The drawback is the time taken to and from the campuses but then people stay on the bay and have lectures on Singleton and that takes longer.

Thanks for the help, really good to know.
Do you know if Seren and True have many first years?
I wasn’t given the option for Ty Nant, but might be able to apply later in the year idk.
Cheers

Meeting lots of new people definitely a priority, and also my business lectures will be at Bay so it probably makes more sense to stay here.
Nothing beats a drunk bus ride home from a night out either. So bay is probably a good spot.

Ring the university's residential services. They will probably be able to offer you some accommodation for July and August. Most accommodation runs from September but the university should be able to help.
