Music Video Editing

For Media Studies A2 coursework I have to make a music video. I really want to do a lyric video but also have video clips in the background too.

I was thinking of something along the lines of this:

Does anyone have any idea's which program I would use to do this with the lyrics? I know it's possible with a program such as photoshop because I've seen people on Youtube do it! Like, more of an animated lyric video

Any help/tips from anyone who knows how to do this would be AMAZING and greatly appreciated!

Look for After Effects tutorials on "kinetic typography". It will give you some of the right methodology for doing what you want to do.
