It can range from house to trance to anything that has a good beat

Please don't rope Trance into EDM.

EDM is an American term I despise.

I've heard EDM is slowly dying, the sooner the better I'd say!

EDM is a term I don't particularly like.

But I love the music in the genre.
Got to love Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Tiesto, Hardwell, Nervo, Nero etc. Not forgetting 2 of my favourite who aren't going anymore. RIP Swedish House Mafia & Pendulum.

On the whole, dance music has been big for about 3/4 years now. It won't last for ever but music seems to go in cycles. Dance music was huge in the 90s for a period too.

Oh god hardstyle, makes me ears hurt

I remember back in February of this year I was at Ministry of Sound London and it was a Psytrance/Trance Event

Neelix
John 00 Fleming
Neutrino
Eddie Bitar
+ Special Guest Headhunterz

Never had it felt so awkward when Headhunterz came on.... I was so relieved once it was over and Eddie Bitar smashed it and brought a bit of normality back with uplifting trance!

Headhunterz is a pretty awesome guy imo
I had a hardstyle phase like a couple years back and had Showtek, Wasted Penguinz and all these Hardstyle artists on my phone :colondollar:

Sorry, each to their own  not my thing at all!

Yeah I actually like some of Showtek's tunes:

Haha, I don't mind EDM/Cheesy Trouse. I'm a massive fan of Hardwell, have seen him twice now and I would love to see him again! Also into Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas

But what I don't like is DJ's like New World Punx (Markus Schulz & Ferry Corsten) playing an EDM orientated set. I saw them at Global Gathering on Friday and it was pretty cringey to say the least! It wasn't what I expected and it wasn't what I wanted to see, not after the likes of Solarstone and Jordan Suckley playing pure trance!

With Markus Schulz I am a huge fan of him and especially his 6 hour marathon sets, I have nothing but respect for him as well as Ferry's previous productions, but when they go together and play a lot of garbage in their sets, it's just awful to watch!

As soon as I read Showtek I knew it would have to be Cannonball
For me personally it would have to be
You wont like that though
I haven't heard of the others :colondollar:
Hopefully subbing to this thread will help me discover some of the songs I've been hearing for years but never actually found out the names. :colone:
