There a wide variety of oxidising agents that change colour when reduced (ie when added to a reducing agent). Benedict's is one. However, you can't accurately tell the concentration of a solution using benedicts. One method we do have is to react the sugar with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid, and then use colorimetry.
A method which come into my mind spontaneously is the fehling test. It show reducing sugars up by changing the color from blue to red.
