2015 Asset Management / Trading Graduate Programs

Hi, anyone heard from Schroders? Still no updates since video interview....not sure how long it will take for them to review all videos...

for sales schorders said they would get back after the deadline (31st december) not sure whether its the same for other departments. Also has anyone heard from Blackrock client businesses? The advisory department sent me a numerical a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything from Client Businesses.

Nothing from Schroders, and not for anyone I know, so I think everyone is still waiting. I've also tried contacting them numerous times, but have had no reply.

I also got an invite to a "group event" with Aviva Investors, which after speaking with them is essentially an AC. It's the first and final round of assessment for them, and so very bizzare that they don't hold more interview rounds!

Ruffer should be sending interview invites out really soon as well, so I'm hoping to hear from them this week, or if not early next week.

Has anyone got any updates from Temasek?

Schroders have carried out ACs (mate of mine had equities AC this week) and so have Temasek + given offers.

Thats the first time I am hearing regarding Investment related assessment centre with Schorders considering they have not even finishing reviewing their video interviews yet. Moreover, I do not think Schroders offer specialised assessment centre for Equities only? considering all assets classes comes under one umbrella (Investment Management) and should have combined assessment centre

I am fairly sure that schroders don't reject videos of people on their 'maybe' list until the ac is finished essentially incase they want none of the ac grads they keep people on standby incase they need to do a second Ac. And then one the roles are filled they send rejections to their maybes.

My insight on this is slightly different from above considering there at least 5 or 6 of us here on student room waiting to hear from Schroders after the video interview. What are the odds of none of them been invited?? In hindsight, there is no way of knowing precisely until or unless you actually heard from them. As they say do not put you eggs in one basket always have diversified portfolio..

I emailed Schroders the other day and they told me they are completing their final screening and will be in contact very shortly. Applied for the Investment Grad Scheme and had interview at the beginning of November.
Make of that what you will!

I can confirm it was an AC specifically for Equities. Schroders hire directly into asset class teams

Schroders have already chosen there Sales Graduates, I had an email saying i was down to final 30 having passed the video interview.

However, there was then another shuffle and only 15-20 went through to final stage which was held on the 27th Nov.

The AC on the 27th November was for the Sep 2015 Grad intake. They probably run a seperate one for the Internship but not 100% sure!

Dude, I will be honest if you have received an honorary degree from Russell Group of Universities than there is still slight possibility you may be called in for Assessment Centre. I applied for event with Blackrock and they rejected my application merely for that. Thereafter out of self respect I withdrawn my application for all their graduate programmes considering they are not even going to cater my application further. In hindsight, this is my presumptions which have lead me believe that it will be waste of time to invest my time & effort for company who are least interested. As an individual who have previously worked for major Investment Banks I thought it would be best to put my effort in new deal with other interested clients/companies.

I received an email earlier today advising me that my caliber was not high enough for Investment Management role, which was disappointed to here considering I managed my own complex stocks and bond portfolio. I am focus on building my own business in this area as I still did not understand the meaning of very high caliber or I guess University name does matter with these jobs..

I also got a rejection from Schroders unfortunately. Sometimes I'm not sure how/why they make these decisions, as with some firms I've got through to AC already, but with other (like Schroders) I've been rejected early on!
