Masters of Nursing Science 2015

I'm applying for the Masters of Nursing Science (Adult) for 2015 undergraduate! Although the entry requirements are AAB I am predicted ABB, what do you think my chances are?
I'm applying for the BSc course too just in case, but the masters course is my perfect course and I really want to get in!
Is anyone else in the same position as me or already got an offer?
I'm sending my UCAS next week.

Hey, I'm apply for the Masters of Nursing Science too but i'm applying for the Child one for 2015. I'm predicted ABB as well but it's still worth apply to it coz you never...you could get an offer if your personal statement and reference are amazing and I do think that they'll consider someone predicted ABB.

I'm planning on sending mine off next week too.
Where else are you applying to ?

Hey,
I'm predicted A*BB and I'm applying for both the MNurSci and the BSc Children's branch at Nottingham. It's my aspirational choice as all my other choices are at/below my predicted grades, one aspirational choice can't hurt though and the course does look amazing! I think that as we're all predicted close to their grades they'll at least consider us, especially with good ps and reference, I've been told my PS is good and hopefully my reference should be! I did have extenuating circumstances at AS so am retaking quite a lot but as my AS' weren't certificated all the unis see are my GCSEs (3A* 7A) and my predictions.
I'm sending my UCAS off next week. Also applying to UEA, Southampton (Adult and Child combined) and Oxford Brookes (Child and mental health combined).
Good luck everyone!

Hey, noticed you're applying for child, someone in the nursing 2015 entry thread just said the Child Masters isn't being funded this year!? I'm going to ring about it this afternoon I think and ask, just thought you should know!

No worries, I really hope they do still run it as it's my first choice course! I'm scared so I tweeted them instead :P I'll ring if I don't get a reply though

It's official that they're not running the masters for child branch :frown: I'm still applying for the BSc but the masters was my dream course! Are you still going to apply for the BSc?

I know!!:frown: I'm annoyed cause I went to the open day specifically to find oht more about the masters, cost £250 to get there and back for my mum and I! I think I'm going to as well, the BSc still sounds really good but I think Southampton is now my top choice instead (the MNurSci was!)
Good luck

I know, going to interviews (if I get any!) will be so expensive!:O whoop I'm applying for the Adult & Child combined course there which looks amazing! Where else are you applying? My others are Oxford Brookes, UEA and Notts for the BSc (haven't worked out my other one yet!)
Thanks

Isn't your school going to pay for your transport ?? Of course you'll get interviews....don't be daft
The combined degree does look good ! I'll just be applying for Bsc child nursing at Soton.

I'll be applying to King's College, City, South Bank and Notts for Child nursing.
I was thinking of changing Notts for UEA for child nursing coz it's ranked higher for it....I dunno

No unfortunately not :frown: I go to a private school so they assume you have money (I'm the bursary kid :P ) hehe thanks, fingers crossed for us both! The combined course sounds interesting especially if I change my mind and want to focus on adult nursing (which I highly doubt I'll change but ah well!)
Sounds good  I live 20mins away from UEA and it does look really good, my friend is doing adult nursing there and loves it!
I'm still deciding my options, may just apply to Southampton and Oxford Brookes to start then add others later (but before Jan 15th) as if I got offers from both they'd be my firm and insurance. Aargh idk.

Oh wow....that means that you're really smart then
I live in an area known for children getting really bad grades and underachieving.
Really 20 mins ?? That's not bad for travelling to and from university.
I think the combined course gives you more opportunities to specialise in two types of nursing.
Yeah. i'm still considering my options too.

Haha allegedly but I'm not really! Only got in cause my brother went there!
That means your predictions are even more impressive, well done  and you may get contextual offers. I don't really want to go to UEA as I'm so close but it is a really good uni! Yeah hopefully, also applying for the combined child and mental health at Oxford Brookes (I think I want to work in children's mental health eventually)
Too many options to consider! Now deciding whether to apply for the mental health masters (as my Ps does talk about mental health/dementia and I do eventually want to do children's mental health) argh too many options! At least we have until Jan 15th thankfully!

So you and your brother are smart then haha
Really ?? What are contextual offers ??
If you live closer then you wouldn't have to live in student accommodation and you'd still be in good contact with other students as well. It's a great uni after all.
Combined child and mental health sounds so intriguing. There are so many options to consider actually, it's so mind boggling
But we do have until Jan 15th so we have loads of time to make up our minds

He's the smart one off at Oxford!:P
You can possibly get offered lower grades if you go to a low achieving school I think and if you meet some other criteria (I think family income is one) but you probably don't need it as your predictions are really good
Yeah it's the most interesting course I think and it has the lowest grade requirements (BBC) so would deffo be my insurance if I was lucky enough to get an offer!
I know! So many options, people think you're going into just nursing but there's so many things to consider!! My school have only had 2 nursing applicants in the past few years (both for adult) so they don't really know either.
8 more weeks to think about it  I'm submitting my UCAS once I'm back at school but I think I'm putting 3 unis down and deciding the others later, you do get 7 days from submitting to switch choices as well :/

The area I live in and the school I go to are classed as disadvantaged and under-achieving. Probably an advantage to me but my predicted grades are good so yeah I might not need it

BBC !! That's low...you should deffo go for it. Yeah, people really underestimate nursing in general and it's so annoying !
Really ? I think my school has only 3 nursing applicants but they were all for adult as well.

Me too...I'm going to submit mine in on Monday hopefully if my reference has been done

Really....you can change your what unis choices you've chosen within 7 days ?? That's great coz I think i might chnage my mind on uni choices once i've submitted it in

Ah right, you could look into it if you wanted even tho you don't neccesarily need it it could be nice to have
Yeah it is quite low, would be fab for my insurance as it's my 2nd/3rd choice so I'd be happy doing it! You could apply for it too :P
I know! People think it's easy to get in to and my school pushed me towards medicine for ages (better for their results!) There's one girl in my year considering mental health nursing which is cool but it's just me for certain.
Good luck! Hopefully doing mine on Tuesday (if my reference is finallllllly done!)
Yeah you get a 7 day period from your application being processed to switch any choices but once you switch it's final (you can't switch that choice again) and if you add any after (but before Jan 15th) you can't switch that one (hope that makes sense!)
I'm worried I'll change my mind after submitting but there's always Extra/Clearing/Adjustment to go through if it all goes wrong or I do change my mind

I'll think about applying to it, my mum's a mental health nurse so i'll ask her what she thinks about it.
I hate it when people presume that it's so easy to get into nursing and yeah people have tried to get me to do medicine in the past. Children's nursing is the hardest nursing to get into with only 30-40 places at each uni and hundreds of people apply for it each year.

Good luck to you too !!
Sounds quite reasonable but i'm scared that i'll probably change my mind after submitting as well.
I may go through adjustment/clearing and apply for a high ranked uni like Manchester if I get really good grades (AAA or above) or I don't get any offers or if i change my mind in the summer
