Equity and trusts problem question - precatory words

Need help for the following problem question. Thanks!

Jim who recently died left a will appointing Steven as his executor and trustee. The will contained the following:
1. My freehold house to my wife Lucy in full confidence that she will hold it for either my daughter Jennifer or my son Jack as she thinks fit.

2. The income from my blue chip shares to my sister Kate from which she should ensure that our Uncle Bill has a reasonable standard of living.

Advise Steven as to the validity of these.
