Let me know if you find some xD

So far, I've signed up for the Institute of Physics, Royal Society of Chemisty, and I'll find a sciency magazine/books.

I mentor a younger student in maths and will probably volunteer in a chemistry class. That's pretty much it, besides the maths challenge

Hey, just wondering if y'all have any super curricular activity ideas for maths/nat sci at Cambridge- what's there to do?

GCSE s ~ 9A* 4A (including A^ in further maths)
As predictions ~ 4A's Maths, Chemistry, Physics & Further Maths

There are lots of schemes and programmes available for sciences and maths, just make sure you don't miss the deadlines:

Just be aware that some have specific entry requirements and some also haven't updated their website for the current year yet.

I'm no expert on these things, so you're best asking a mod.

I'd say it depends on the subject ~ law/medicine often need higher gcses and you'll be up against people with higher grades.

But what matters more is your as levels (assuming you do them still ) so your test scores seem really promising. Best to concentrate on as levels and doing some related super curricular stuff

What would you plan on studying?

Law LLB

You?
not sure how much there is to do, but does anyone know of good extracurriculars for compsci? I can't think of any at all.. I'm currently learning to program in a few languages and am going to try my hardest to find some work experience next year, but where I live isn't the best for things - anyone got ideas for at-home ECs?

Hey everyone :h: decided to join the thread since Cambridge is my dream uni.
I'm from the US so I am changing my academic stats according to the Cambridge requirements for my country.

Courses Interested in: I'm not 100% sure yet but probably HSPS

I'm in 11th grade. So far I've taken 3 AP's and I'm taking 6 more by the time I apply:

AP's: Spanish (5), Psychology (5), European History (4), Chemistry, Physics 1, English Language and Composition, US History, Calculus AB, and Human Geography. (Literature, Biology, and Computer Science senior year)

SAT: Just took it last weekend, probably around a 2200

GPA: weighted - 4.5 unweighted - 3.8

Extra curricular stuff:
- swim team
-vice president of my school's Future Business Leaders of America chapter
-president of my school's political debate organization
-tutoring other students
-a little volunteering here and there, probably doing a lot more this summer now that I'm finally done with the SAT

Any other yanks out there interested in applying to Cam? :P

hey! figured I would let you know about the most helpful blog ever http://www.askacambridgestudent.tumblr.com - it's recently been taken over by someone new but for years was run by an american student who went to cam, she posted lots of helpful stuff and quite a few american-specific things - hope you find some of it helpful! you can scroll back or you can look through her tags - I'm pretty sure there's a tag specifically for american applications!

It's pretty impressive, but Cambridge would care more about relevant activities.

Off the top of my head, I'd say that good law super curriculars would be debating team, work experience in a solicitors, subscribe to a law mag, volunteering, anything to show your interviewer that you are really super interested

no.

Super curriculars are directly related to your intended course. So if you were applying for Sports Science then yes. For Law - no.
