Has anyone ever had been operated by laser resurfacing???

Hi guys.In next month I'll be operated by a well-known plastic surgeon in Greece with the method of laser resurfacing.Actually I have 2 chickenpox scars on my face,one to my cheek and one to my forehead.To tell you the truth I'm a bit scared.Sometimes I see on the news people after cosmetic operations with complications.Moreover I really don't know if laser resurfacing will be really efective in my case(chickenpox scars).Although these scars aren't in depth and don't make me look inattractive,it's something I really want so as to be fully confidential.So has anyone had been operated by this method in the past for chickenpox or acne scars??Anyone known to you??
