No mention of Birmingham?

Birmingham is a marvellous-looking university with an excellent history (and a bright future too, by the looks of it). If a stunning university like Birmingham had a track record of being in the top 5-10, everyone would be mentioning it. Conversely if a university like Warwick fell out of the top 20, people would lose interest overnight.

Unfortunately ranking credentials are effective in conditioning some people's perceptions (particularly on here), but they're not set in stone. If you had to choose between a non-RG uni ranked 14th and an RG uni ranked 80th (with a good number of Nobel laureates to its name), if you had some sense you would still probably choose the lower ranked RG uni, because it has a much more rigid reputation even if it has a bad ranking. Just shows you what a load of bull league tables are, and also why maybe we should stop believing RGs always in the top 10 are automatically better than other RGs, and that this is somehow an unchanging fact.

Yes,

Just to add another information:

King’s is the third best London uni in all the most reputable worldwide rankings, Except for THE.

Durham and St. Andrews are way too more prestigious in the U.K. than in any other country.

That’s a fact!
