It's another week, and it's time for another interview. This time it's ozzyoscy, a regular purveyor of the football forum, and mass debater. Hehe.
Enjoy!
(Oh, and if you wanna be interviewed, quote me)
- Age: 28
- Team: Manchester United.
- Why do you support them? First team I was drawn to and couldn't help support, the first match I watched was the 1998 F.A. Cup final and watched football regularly after that. It was a good first season to be a Man Utd fan!
Also, Brighton and Hove Albion (home team, once I started recognising football outside the Premier League), Iran and usually England, when they're something to be proud of (even when they're rubbish).
- Who is your favourite player? David Beckham as a kid but now I think Eric Cantona.
- What one player from another PL side do you secretly admire? Ulloa for being a one-season great at Brighton. But it's no secret; I don't understand the desire to be biased just because of who you support.
- What famous person do you look like? I don't think anyone, but a few girls have randomly said 'young Charlie Sheen'. Or was it 'young Patrick Swayze'? But then I've also had 'Tobey Maguire'. I think Sheen is closest.
- MPs have voted in favour of air strikes in Syria. Where do you stand on that? From what experts have said (since I'm not an expert on the matter) and how politics works, it's most likely just showing off and ineffectual against Bad Guy #9001. Are ISIS even responsible for half the **** they claim? But in the bigger picture, I don't care either way. I don't live in a major city, my career currently doesn't involve foreign affairs or politics, so it doesn't affect my life. We all have plenty of real things to worry about enough.
- How much is a pint of milk? Actually don't know... banana/chocolate/strawberry milk is £1.
- What should the country be doing about radicalisation? Invent PreCrime or turn into 1984, or nothing much, just keep arresting the criminals you can. I mean hey, if they go to Syria they're gonna be bombed anyway, RIIIIGHT? But as above, doesn't affect me so I don't worry about it.
- Where do you stand on the refugee crisis? Should we be allowing more in, or are we doing enough? Are we doing too much? No idea. Again, no expertise in the area and no proper information on it, and doesn't really affect me. But I can verify that it's true they do take jobs that us natives won't. The dodgy jobs, the ones you'd walk out of by lunch break (which is common with Englishmen apparently).
- What is your most deplorable trait? If we're just talking about forums, people hate that I don't read every post when they're arguing with me. I get the gist in the first sentence and arguments get repetitive so I don't bother reading the rest. I figure if they say anything important, someone else will repeat a good point. No one ever seems to though. Internet arguers usually just aim to get the last word. In real life, probably that I don't talk for the sake of talking. when I talk, I have something to say. When I ask, I want to know the answer. But I don't think these are deplorable myself. If everyone did the above we'd all be a bit happier and have a lot more free time too. These seem normal to me if anything.
- Research found that a new voting system could mean every voter has to register individually, thus losing the country an estimated 3million voters. Is our democracy threatened? About only one in four people eligible to vote voted for one of the Conservative bloc, so Conservatives have full power for 5 years, and you say we have a democracy?
- You can banish one football pundit from Earth. Who is it? I only know the BBC ones. Either Phil McNulty for his incessant Manchester United articles or Jonathan Pearce for lots of things (I think I once made a thread), like not knowing how replays and goals work or "IN THE SUNSHYIIIINE".
- The euthanasia debate has reared its head this week. Should it be legalised? Yes, at least for terminal illness. It's inhumane (and illogical) to keep people alive when they're dying, in pain, not getting better and don't want to live.
- American shootings are an altogether too common phenomenon. What would YOU do about it, if you were Obama? Nothing because I suspect Obama and myself both want to control or ban guns, and he's the President and hasn't been able to do anything, and he knows more about the politics of America than I do.
- What has been the scariest moment of your life so far? I don't know. I've only ever called 999 once when I was helping save someone who had collapsed, but I wouldn't say it was scary as I was in control and the person on the phone was no help at all and I just did it myself.
- You can select one person from history and ask them a question to which they must give a thruthful reply. Whom would you select, and what question would you ask? I can't think of any. What's done is done, refer to NASA's (and Donald Rumsefeld's) quote about known knowns, unknown unknowns, known unknowns etc.
- A transgender woman sent to a man's prison was released this week. She shouldn't have been there in the first place. Discuss. Nothing to discuss for me. I'm completely indifferent, no knowledge of the situation, no interest.
- What is your favourite album, film and book of 2015? I'm pretty sure I haven't listened to, watched or read anything from 2015. I prefer games, and I'm rarely in a rush to listen to/watch/read/play anything. It'll still be here in 5 years. And I only bought two games from 2015, so it's not much of a contest.
- What would be your final meal on death row? Something Persian.
- What would the title of your autobiography be? Something witty.
- If you could introduce a rule into football from ANY other sport (i.e. sin-bins), what would it be? Challenge a decision (goal allowed/disallowed, dive, corner or goal kick etc.) or just plain replays in general. Not going to insult everyone's intelligence by calling it 'technology'. It's looking at a ****ing monitor for 3 seconds.
- You can have five TSR FF members over to yours for dinner. Who are they? I don't know anyone so I'd rather not.
OVER TO YOU LOT
