d) All of the above

3. An ANOVA examining the effects of participants’ sex, as well as their favourite season (winter, spring, summer or autumn) on a personality test score (the EPQ), would be a:
a) 2 (Sex) by 2 (Season) Unrelated ANOVA
b) 1 (Sex) by 1 (Season) Unrelated ANOVA
c) 2 (Sex) by 4 (Season) Unrelated ANOVA
d) None of the above

c) It utilises a single Predictor value
d) All of the above are true

6. Which of the following should NOT be true of your data in order for a parametric test to be run:
a) The DV must be scale data
b) The data must be skewed
c) The data must be normally distributed
d) The data must have homogeneity of variance

7. Statistical probability is:
a) The probability that the effects occurred due to error/chance
b) The probability that the null hypothesis is true
c) Indicates significance when it is close to 0
d) All of the above

8. An ANOVA examining the effects of participants’ sex and smoking habits (smokers vs. non-smokers) on a memory task would be a:
a) 2 (Sex) by 2 (Smoking habit) Unrelated ANOVA
b) 1 (Sex) by 1 (Smoking habit) Unrelated ANOVA

c) 2 (Sex) by 4 (Season) Unrelated ANOVA
d) None of the above

4. A parametric test is based on the assumption that you have:

Although you've got the answer they are looking for here, its not actually true that the data needs to be normally distributed. Its actually the sampling distribution has to be normally distributed.

7. Statistical probability is:
a) The probability that the effects occurred due to error/chance
b) The probability that the null hypothesis is true
c) Indicates significance when it is close to 0
d) All of the above
This question also does not make sense...

Question 10 is probably B. Did you get this MCQ from class? the questions are rubbish :P

Question 2 looks wrong because B isn't right.

I'd guess question 4 was wrong because you can use parametric tests when you have a binary outcome variable, but i'm not sure.

I think Q10 is B as well. Yes, the MCQ was from class given as practice for our exam. LOL. I agree.

I apologise for Q2, as it was a typo. It should be ** denotes p < .01.

Thank you for your help.
