Hi, I've been looking through past papers and as I think that in Statutory Interpretation the purposive or mischief rule might come up. With ADR Arbitration hasn't come up for a while as well as conciliation and possibly advantages or disadvantages of civil courts. Hope this was of some help

My predictions is:
DL:
Describe a form of either bylaws and statutory instruments
Parliamentary controls
Advantages and disadvantages of DL

Statutory instruments:
Explain the Golden rule
Explain the Mischief rule
Advantages and disadvantages of (rule of language)

Criminal courts and lay people:
Jury qualification, selection & appointment
Describe how lay magistrate qualify
Discuss disadvantages of using lay persons in the criminal courts

I did the unit 1 last year and am redoing it this year. I got a C last year but think I can do better. After re-revising it I think that Examples are the keyy! For example, Delegated legislation> Orders in Council> Terrorism act 2001, energy reserve order 2000, Afghanistan Act 2001, foot-in-mouth crisis 2001. etc.
And for Green papers- consultative document, used to evoke discussion & debate by interested & effected parties. example - High speed rail 2010.
white papers- firm proposals of the bill.
both part of the Informal law-making process

For those doing ADR and the Civil Courts, has one of the three questions always been advantages and disadvantages combined and never either advantages/disadvantages alone? Looked at last few past papers and this seems to be the case but I haven't looked at any past papers beyond 2013 so... 😂

Thanks.
Are we expected to know/is it possible to be asked the advantages & disadvantages of the Latin rules? Also, I'm re-sitting this paper so does that mean that it will be different to the paper sat by yr12s/people not re-sitting?
Can they really ask for evaluation of the latin rules? There is nothing to say..

I thought advantages and disadvantages of rules of language isn't on the specification? Or do you mean a rule of interpretation?
