    I was looking at a past paper and it says
    "Answer one question from section a and one from b and then another one from any of them"
    Does this mean in total I only need to do 3 questions and not the WHOLE paper??

    Yep sounds like it.

    Yes you need to do 3 in total. One question from section A ( the topic you have been learning) and one question from section B ( the topic you have been learning) and then you do one additional question from either section A or section B, though do the question you know
