Think about it loads of people work so hard for their A Levels, prepare insanely for interviews, get it, and have a naked professor with the word brexit emblazoned across her breasts LOL
people who devote their life to acdemics/studying/learning... turn out to be a bit wierd.

The least surprising story ever.
A desperate attention seeker takes her clothes off because it makes her feel more righteous, end of.

She seems to really like getting her kit off in public. Clearly the nakedness has no connection whatsoever to the subject matter. 'Brexit leaves Britain naked' is real stretch.

I've got no problem with her being nude, but it doesn't lend any force to her points. It's a bit of a shame that a Cambridge fellow has to resort to such means to get attention, really. Tends to make one suspect she doesn't have anything particularly interesting to say.

The BBC invited her on the show, I bet everyone involved had a pretty good idea that she was going to get her kit off.

Humphries is retiring soon, maybe the producers thought it would give him something nice to talk about when he's doing the inevitable career retrospective clipshow.
Good show to her! That'll show the world. Here is exactly how this is going to work out:

Victoria: "I got my boobs out to stop Brexit!"
Britain: "A pair of breasts say they don't like the way people voted! Quick! CHANGE THE VOTE!"
Victoria: "Victory is mine!"

Perfect strategy, Victoria. I can see why you think that would make a difference.

i agree with her message, in that we sexualise women's bodies then criticise and call it 'attention seeking' when a woman sexualises her own body. i just think it's too much of a stretch to conflate this with brexit as brexit is a public law issue, not a private one.

i saw the clip on the BBC and all the interviewer wanted was to talk about her nakedness, so maybe not a victory for the brexit campaign. she must have seen this coming tho. when you're promoting two unrelated messages, the louder one will always win out so maybe this was more about self promotion than actual brexit (obviously). i won't be a hater tho. she got on the BBC and i didn't.

Would have been funnier for the listeners if Humphries didn't react and never mentioned it.

She wasn't really saying anything new and he presumably had some time to fill

Nope she was attention seeking, absolutely no need to get naked and it most certainly wasn't sexual in any way, I'd call it quite sad really.

You'd hope that they did. She's been doing this for ages, as you can tell by the fact that this thread was started in 2016.

She gave a lecture in Cambridge a couple of weeks ago in which she stripped naked within the first couple of minutes. She then asked audience members to sign her body as a petition against Brexit.

Even if it were interesting in the first place, surely everyone's bored of it this particular stunt by now.
She needs to make her mind up, is she going to go with the Brexit thing or the womens body thing. Doing interviews on Brexit naked all the time eventually ends up making you look deranged.
let's hope she doesn't give Mrs May any ideas

A Cambridge academic attended a faculty meeting naked in protest at the EU referendum result, it was revealed yesterday.

Dr Victoria Bateman, a lecturer and fellow in economics at Gonville and Caius college, had written ‘Brexit leaves Britain naked’ on her breasts and stomach.

Dr Bateman has been openly opposed to the UK leaving the EU. In an article for Bloomberg View earlier last month, she wrote: ‘The impact would be sizable.

She joined around 30 directors of studies at the economics faculty meeting on Wednesday to discuss teaching material and courses. Sources say the two-hour meeting, which was chaired by Nigel Knight, director of studies at Churchill College, went ahead as normal without anyone mentioning her nudity.

Well... yrs of peaceful protest seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

Let's hope no-one tried etching their name with a compass point, like you do on school desks with your tongue protruding from the corner of your mouth.

Bit like jumping off a cliff, then.

Or Boris... it would be like a porn horror remake of Laurel & Hardy. That's another fine mess you've got me into...

Great way to get your POV taken seriously and not look like some 60s hippie loon. Not.
I don't think it leaves us naked, just a lot poorer.
