    Im going into A Level next year and want to know the best way to learn vocab? Thank you

    Flashcards but use pictures. I did this method with powerpoint;

    Slide 1: english term - e.g. shop window
    slide 2: foreign term, gender and plural if needed (german has awkward plurals) - e.g. das Schaufenster/die Schaufenster
    at the bottom of slide 2 = a picture of said thing, so a shop window.

    This is a good way of learning as this is how we learn a lot of words anyway. We associate words with concepts and images and you need to do that in a foreign language - so if you were to hear the word Schaufenster you need to have the mental concept of a shop window just as if you were hearing the word 'shop window'.
