ive applied to study in 2008, if i miss my offer can i go into clearing 2007?

ive applied to study in 2008 (after having taken a gap year) if i fail to meet my offer would it be possible to go into clearing 2007?
i presume clearing 2008 doesnt exist

Only if you want to go to university this September.

If you want to go next year then you need to reapply through UCAS for 2008 if you don't get the grades for your deferred entry.
