maths personal statement

Hi,

Need help with my personal statement. please someone advice me with how to start it. i started my personal statement with why does maths interest me. then someone visited our school with some tips 4 uni and personal statement and asked me rearrange my paragraphs. my one of the paragraphs was about the summer maths course i attended which was for 2 days. He told me to start my personal statement with this as it shows that i did something which influnces me and show how commiteed i am.

But then after i bring this to top, it doesn't sound so sharp as the starting of personal statement should be.

so how do you think i should rephrase this?

any advice???
