I've been hearing people saying the International Politics and Conflict Studies course isn't running? Could anyone confirm?

Hi nmeechan,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I have double checked with the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy, and Politics who run the course and they have confirmed that it is definitely still running next year. :h:

Are you thinking of applying for it?

I have applied to Construction and Project Management with Industrial Internship (Master of Science)
I have received offer and accepted it.
As the program consist with Industrial Internship of one year I have some quires regarding it.
It is stated on website that ‘The University does not organise or provide Industrial Internships. It is the student's responsibility to arrange their own Industrial Internship’ so can you please give some information that which companies come for Career Fair/ Job Fair.
And data of past students who got internship. (How many % students got internship and average stipend/salary offered?)
Do University helps in finding internship?
Thank You

I've sent off my UCAS a few weeks ago and I'm applying for Architecture. How long does it usually take to receive an offer? I know some uni's wait until January before giving any offers? Also for someone who hasn't been able to visit the campus in person (I live in England) is the campus close to the city?

Hi, itsjesslouise! I also have applied for architecture and still waiting for university's response. Do you already submitted a portfolio?

Congratulations, some-random-guy! :congrats:

It might be an idea to contact the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering directly on Facebook as they may be aware of any groups that have been started. You can find their page here.

If you have any other question, please let us know.

Hi, I'm from England and i just applied to do law next year. i was wondering if there are many English students at Queen's because it seems a bit daunting to be going to uni in a different country! I'm doing an extended level 3 diploma in business specialising in law and accounts, do you give equal consideration for a level and BTEC? last year i got 9 distinctions and am on track to get 8 distinctions and 1 merit at the end of this year. What are the chances of me receiving an offer?

Hi channonchannon,

If you contact our Admissions office letting them know your results so far and what modules you are currently studying, they will be able to answer your question regarding entry requirements and offers. You can call them on 028 9097 3838 or drop them an email at [email protected].

And it's also totally understandable that the thought of moving away from home is a very daunting prospect for you. There are currently 1,200 GB students here at Queen's with approximately 320 living in Elms Village (our main student accommodation). There are always at least 3-4 GB students placed on each floor within the halls and there is also a large body of international students. There is a Weekend Club led by our English, Scottish and Welsh students which organises trips, events and activities which are great for socialising and forging friendships.

Our Students' Union is also very active and provides a vibrant community for our students. As well as its bars, clubnights, comedy nights etc it also boasts countless clubs and societies which are a great way to meet new people.

If you have any other questions about coming to Queen's, or indeed Belfast, please just let us now!

Hey Kachela,

I'm a mature applicant (23) who's applying to study Mental Health Nursing. I didn't attend the open day in September 2017 as I hadn't originally planned to apply for the 2018 cycle....but as a ROI student I got worried that Brexit would affect the funding available in 2019 so just decided to take the plunge!

I'm going to come to a campus tour, but from what I've read it seems that this would only cover the general facilities and not nursing-specific facilities. Would it be at all possible to view the nursing facilities (in particular the Simulation Suite) provided it was pre-arranged with members of staff from the programme? If so, would you happen to know the best person to contact about this?

Thanks!
Just curious, are there any easy-access routes from the university to the Republic? Have got family in Wicklow it would be nice to go see, especially since I hear QUB is a bit of a ghost town at weekends if you're not Northern Irish.

Slightly similar note; do you know if the History department has started giving out offers yet? I know Belfast prefers to take its time, it's just the last one I'm waiting to hear back from. Impatience, I know

Hi SliceofPye :hello:

A campus tour is a great idea! If you contact the School of Nursing and Midwifery directly, hopefully they can help with arranging a visit to their facilities while you are at Queen's. You can email them at [email protected] or call 048 9097 2233.

The Medical Biology Centre where the School is based is just a 5 minute walk away from the main Lanyon Building. You can read more about the facilities here.

I hope you enjoy your visit to campus and if you need any further information please just let us know.

Hi CastCuraga :h:

Firstly, with reference to offers, it is totally understandable that you are keen to hear back. Our admissions team will be making offers right up until May time, but hopefully you will hear something very soon.

And in answer to the other part of your post, yes, it is very easy to travel. There is a regular train service between Belfast and Dublin. This service brings you directly to Connolly Station where you can then take a connecting train to Wicklow.

Also, campus itself itself is getting busier at weekends. This year, there are 1,200 GB students attending the university with 320 currently living in Elms Village (the main student accommodation). The students there run a Weekend Club which gives them an opportunity to meet up, go on trips and take part in regular events etc.

I hope this information is useful, but if you need anything else please just let us know!

Hi, I am an international student and I applied for QUB medicine 2018 entry. However, I still heard nothing from QUB yet. I wanna if QUB is still sending out medicine interviews? Or all the international students who applied for medicine and haven't got interview chances now are unofficially rejected?

Looking forward to your reply.
