The news channel we've got on at work suggests one shooter is down.
Still one active thought they reckon

I keep hearing mixed reports of whether there is or not.

Flights at McMcarran airport have been cancelled by the sounds of it.

"Companion" identified as Marilou Danley, of Asian descent.

In the words of the officer on CNN, not my words before you @me.

Terrible.
Frankly, as much as I feel bad for the victims and those caught up in it, there's a big feeling of "same ****, different day" about it all. It's become the norm for the US.

And of course, totally prohibiting the sale or possession of semi-automatic weapons would not make this kind of event any less likely, cuz "guns don't kill people..."
*smh*

I'd have to agree with you on this, these sort of stories are becoming a regular thing.

I suspect the current gun laws in Nevada are going to come under scrutiny now following this.

The videos of the incident would suggest the firearms used were automatics rather semis, which IIRC have been banned at least for resale since the 70s.
There's no denying that American firearm laws are bonkers, as I Brit living in Vegas it's easy to pick fault. It does strike home when things happen close by, I was down on the strip on Wednesday although I haven't been to the Mandalay in a few weeks.

From the reports, it sounds like it could be someone for whom all the noise from across the road was the last straw.
Whatever the issue was, adding automatic weapons to the mix rarely turns out well.
Truly horrible news, it's so sad how commonplace things like this are becoming.

Please don't use this horrible thing as a time to push your own agenda. France has some of the most draconian gun laws in the western world and Paris happened.

Let's find out what the shooter's motivation was, first - Who he was and why he did it.
Most recent update is saying 50 dead and at least 200 injured.
