v.slow internet (sky) what can I do about it?

Im living with terrible internet speeds. Do you have slow internet, how do you cope, any solutions out there??

Sat, 4G, hyperoptic, microwaves, etc. lots of different stuff on the net. In a student house, no fiber available in my area. 2mbps down, 1mbps up

Restart the router from time to time.
Use the 2.4ghz wifi network as opposed to the 5ghz ones.
Play with the channel settings on the 2.4ghz network. Keep changing it until you find one that works well from your room.
For non videos/downloads, switch to 3G on your phone and hotspot it to your laptop.

Hi guys thanks for all the replies. I went with Air Internet in the end buying one of there unlimited data portable routers, fibre speeds, unlimited data and just £24pm! They're on ebay, I can highly recommend as wherever you move to you can just take it with you
