135kg bench (1rm) to 140kg (1rm) journey

*****140kg bench accomplished with pause*****

HI will be following the smolov routine to see what gains I get out of my bench. I will be starting at a bench press of 135kg for a 1rm and hoping to end on 140kg minimum.

For now here is me doing a set of 85kg strict OHP on a whim and 3 hours of sleep (cramming for revision) for 4.5 rep after a heavy workout earlier in the day after another user on here didn't believe me (85kg on a strict press for 4.5 reps roughly totals to 95kg+ as 1rm, though my 1rm is actually 100kg last tested) just to show at least some validity in what I'm saying. (this isn't to boast as I know there are plenty people stronger I just don't want people to think the thread is bs).

Here's the routine:
02/07/2019 - 6 x 6 - 95kg (done)
04/07/2019 - 7 x 5 - 100kg (done)
06/07/2019 - 8 x 4 - 107.5kg (doing today on thread start day)
08/07/2019 - 10 x 3 - 115kg
11/07/2019 - 6 x 6 - 100kg
13/07/2019 - 7 x 5 - 105kg
15/07/2019 - 8 x 4 - 112.5kg
17/07/2019 - 10 x 3 - 120kg
20/07/2019 - 6 x 6 - 105kg
22/06/2019 - 7 x 5 - 110kg
24/06/2019 - 8 x 4 - 117.5kg
24/06/2019 - 10 x 3 - 125kg
(break till 28/06/2019)
Attempt 3 plates on 28/06/2019

I'll post some videos of some of the sets through the log as I go on

Session was fine - weights were relatively light so did close grip.
Finished up with some skull crushes 5 x 5 with 20kg plates per side
And banced it out with some face pulls
How has your progress been?

What's your background? Strong lifts!

Hi I actually had to stop the program just because I had to go abroad for a family matter.
But I hit it regardless (3 plates) around the beginning of September and have since hit it five times (for singles obviously) paused/competition style.
Working on deadlift atm and maintaining bench, then will work on squat and compete sometime next summer.
Hit 100kg *****on the overhead press strict****** with calibrated plates too whilst abroad (at a better gym than PureGym lol) previously had hit it on regular gym plates. I would like to attempt the 3 plates with calibrated plates too at some point just so I'm 100% sure.

How about you man?
