For AQA 1000 words, so they normally allow 10%. You can also ask your teacher as its just approximate so I expect 1200 would be ok, depends on them. I would try for 1,000 with a margin of 10%.

My EPQ Supervisor said you can reach 2500 so that is definitely not matching. I find it difficult to condense the written report into just 10 pages so what should we actually include? Do we include why we made certain decisions or should that be left in our production log, do we include theory behind our artefact? Please guide me. Thank you.

AQA's official documentation states

If they opt for a research-based written report as a product,
they should aim to write 5000 words. The length of the report accompanying an
artefact is not of importance but should be a minimum of 1000 words.
```

'research based should aim to write 5000 words'. 'artefact ... *minimum* of 1000 words'.

I will probably write much more than 1000 in mine and this is my confluence
