I am thinking about learning a second language

I am considering learning a new language. Not for A-Levels or a degree, just as a hobby. What are the benefits/downsides of doing so and if you've done it, what tips do you have?

Even though English is widely spoken everywhere, travelling or living in place and speaking the local language will give a Touch Of familiarity

Knowing more than on language also develops your brain. I have done a second language all my life and a third language for 6 years. Second language as Hindi and third as french
