american studies at uni

hi everyone,
basically, i want to do american studies at university and since we're all on lockdown and i have loads of free time, does anyone know of any good books, online courses, or anything that will look good on my personal statement and will prove i have a genuine interest in the subjects?
i've already started reading a couple of books on US politics and i'm in the middle of an online course about relations between america and china, but now there's sooooo much free time now i have the chance to do even more, and make up for the work experience i was supposed to be doing in the summer
