Year abroad at Glasgow

On a 4 year degree, does a year abroad add an additional year or does it take up one of the 4 years ?

I’m bit anxious I may be studying 5 years.

It depends on your course, but generally speaking you do your year out in 2nd or 3rd year. This is not an addition to the 4 year degree, you do your year out and still progress to the next year afterwards. You will not be studying for 5 years (unless you choose an MA afterwards).

It is worth noting however that alongside the work you receive in your abroad school, your home uni will also require work from you. Depending on the course this can result in an almost double workload.
