What is Cardiff Met famous for?

Soo I'm thinking of moving to Cardiff as I've been there before and it's such a lovely city but was just wondering what does Cardiff Met specialise in?
I've heard someone tell me it's quite a sporty uni and attracts students for that sole reason. Is this true?

I'd also like to hear from current students at the uni about their experience and what they make of the city in general... are people quite friendly? easy to make friends??
I graduated from Cardiff Met this summer and I'm returning there to do a PGCE this September. I would say that yes it's definitely a sporty university. Before the pandemic the university would give us all a Wednesday afternoon off from lectures and seminars so that we could engage in sports/clubs if we wished to do so. I hope that returns in the near future. NIAC the National Indoor Athletic Centre is based at Cardiff Met on it's Cyncoed Campus and has been used by top professional athletes in Wales as well as students.

I have an education degree so I would say that it is also has a big education presence mostly in Cyncoed and is known locally for its teacher training (ITE) a large number of the teachers who work in the Cardiff/South Wales region trained at Met.

I didn't have a lot of trouble making friends. The city is great as well it has lots of entertainment and a vibrant night life. There are lots of places you can go and sites to see like the Bay and Cardiff Castle.

Hope that gives you a bit more information!
