Life groups in Church must focus on their bible

For those who are christians, have you been to a small group where they aren't focusing heavily on the word but on unnecessary stuff?
I have been in small groups in previous churches where they just didnt focus and over the last year I was extremely frustrated with the lack of Bible Study.
Now I joined a church after moving towns and after pressing on, got into a life group where they study the Bible.
The word of God matters and its important for us as Christians to focus on the Bible. Without the word, we are distracted from our calling assigned to us by God.
This should be the basis of all life groups in the Church, Study the word and not get distracted in irrelevant stuff.
