The Student Room Group

What benifits are 2 16 year olds, living alone in on an incredibly low income be?

-We live in Scotland

-We'll both be studying highers

-We'll work of £4.90 minimum, highest part time job I've seen though is £10.

-We'll have to pay about £1060 per month, which is barely affordable.

What should we do?
I don’t see no benefits honestly. Other than you’ll have your freedom but that even depends.
I don't have any personal experience or advice per se, but it's possible that wherever you're studying will be able to provide a bursary to you, given your circumstances.

I found this page on gov.uk providing details about financial support for students between 16 and 19 - hopefully it's helpful to you. Best of luck to you and your friend, I really hope you find a way to support yourselves.
In Scotland if you have no parental support, you can apply for Universal credit.
You may also be eligible for EMA or a 16 to 19 bursary grant from your school or college to help you when studying.
