How much money should I save for uni

Hi I’m just wondering how much money I should have saved in my bank for uni in september?

That's too vague a question to answer. You'll need to think about where you are going, what loans you'll get and what you need to cover: accommodation; food; laundry; travel; laptop; any other items like bedding, kitchenware, clothes; socialising.

Hey there 😀

To begin with, it is important to research the cost of living in the city where you plan to study. This serves as a helpful starting point because prices can vary greatly between different cities. Next, consider your expenses and whether you will be relying on a Student Finance loan at all. I only took out a loan for tuition fees, so I knew I would need to manage the rest of my expenses independently, prompting me to start looking for a job right away.

It is wise to have some savings in case it takes time to find employment. Therefore, aim to save enough money to cover three months' worth of rent, a deposit for accommodation, essential furnishings for your flat or room, as well as food and social activities, depending on your lifestyle. However, keep in mind that the cost of living can vary significantly between cities, so it is best to research prices in your specific destination before you plan how much money you will need.

I hope it was helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Best of luck,
