Hi, I’m Ash

I’m studying:
Combined Science (AQA Trilogy, higher)
Maths (Edexcel, higher)
English (Edexcel I think)
Spanish (AQA, higher)
Geography (Edexcel)
Graphic Communications (WJEC)
Business Studies (OCR)

I take drumming lessons, so much of my free time is spent practicing or listening to music, as well as a bit of gaming

My predicted grades are 999999887 but I’m aiming for at least two 9s and the rest between 6 and 8 (unexpected health issues have made me miss a lot of school)

I’ll probably stay on at my current school’s sixth form to do maths, psychology, and either further maths or economics depending on my maths grade.

I don’t revise :s-smilie: but I will be doing what I can once my health has stabilised. Quizlet has been great for Spanish vocab! I’ll be doing a lot of exam questions as well.
Hey, I'm Celia

Physics (Edexcel IGCSE)

Hi I'm Alice,
I'm doing
Triple science AQA
Maths OCR
English AQA
Geography AQA
History Edexcel
Btec music level 2 Pearson
German Edexcel
In my spare time I like doing sport, (running/athletics), and music, I also like reading.

I'm aiming for 8's and 9's (an 8 might be a push in Maths lol, more likely a 7)

I'm going to go to sixth form, but still undecided what subjects, and whether to stay at my school or not.
Most likely will do Bio,Chem and German, or German, Politics and Bio for A-levels
.
For revision I use flashcards for languages and quotes for English (quizlet) and Seneca and practice questions for other subjects. I also find essay planning, and mindmaps work well for me too.
Just got my school timetable… got 7 hour days to look forward to :s-smilie: 8:40 till 4 does not sound like fun…
I have realised that I started year 11 10 years ago! **** me I’m old. I hope you all get sick results and smash it. Be sure to make the most of extra curricular activities as well as studying as this is one of the few points in your life where you’re going to have the time (and probably the financial means) to pursue your hobbies and interests!

Ouch
That’s gonna be intense :s-smilie:
Hey guys, I'm Beth

My GCSE subjects are:
- Biology (AQA)
- Chemistry (AQA)
- Physics (AQA)
- Maths (AQA)
- English Language and Literature (AQA)
- RS (Edexcel)
- Geography (AQA)
- History (AQA)
- Business Studies (Edexcel)

I'm feeling pretty excited for my GCSEs, mainly as it means that I can go off to sixth form and specialise into the subjects which I enjoy and matter to me for the future. Year 11 is an important year, but I'm looking to embrace it, make amazing memories, and get good exam results at the end of it!

In my spare time I love going to the theatre! So far this year I've seen 15 shows (testament to the fact that I live ~an hour from London by train, and all of my family love musicals so I always have someone to drag along with me!).

After GCSEs, I'm looking at attending my local(ish) sixth form. Because my school is duel-campus (and the sixth form is on the bigger campus, which is around 30 minutes away by bus), I have no real desire to study there. But another sixth form (around an hour away by bus) offers an academic excellence bursary to students who get 7s and above in at least 5 of their GCSEs, which would cover the costs for my bus travel and books, and still leave me with money left over.
I'd love to study geography, business studies and English Language at sixth form.

I'm hoping to get 7s and 8s with a couple of 9s in my GCSEs; my school doesn't give predicted grades until after our December mocks so I have no benchmarks at the minute. In my end of year exams last year, however, I got 9998888776.

My main revision is through GCSEpod, although I also use CGP textbooks and maths genie (for maths).

hey! my name is essie.

my gcse subjects:
- combined science triology (AQA)
- english literature (AQA)
- english language (AQA)
- maths (edexcel)
- history (edexcel)
- spanish (AQA)
- sociology (AQA)
- art (AQA)

In my free time I love to read. I read a range of genres, especially within young adult, except horror because I'm a bit too faint hearted. I also love to draw when it's not contributing towards my gcse coursework and I'm an avid listener of Taylor Swift (my favourite album is speak now).

I'm hoping for mostly 9s at GCSE but I wouldn't mind an 8 here or there in the subjects I favour a little less (apologies to my history and maths teachers).

In the future, I will probably stay at my school's sixth form. I'll most likely study English Literature (my favourite subject ever), Spanish and Sociology (although I'm on the fence when it comes to other subjects like politics, psychology, economics and art).

My favourite revision sources:
history - totally recommend, if you can get them, the "Revise Edexcel History 9-1" revision guide and workbooks. helped so much with year 10 mocks
science - the website https://cognitoedu.org/ is a life saver!! totally recommend
english - seneca is great for recalling good quotes
maths - i always use hegarty maths, if your school gives you access
spanish - loads of quizlet sets and seneca
sociology - not many out there, so if you're willing to buy any text books, buy one for sociology. Can't remember the exact site, but there is a good dictionary out there that defines loads of key terms and states which sociologist came up with them. also, a couple brief but good videos on youtube. if you also do sociology, message me because it's not a subject many people take so let's help each other out!

Wishing all year 11s the best this year! hope we all get the grades we want xx
Hi new Year 11s, my name is Alisha.
My GCSEs are:
English Language (Edexcel)
English Literature (Edexcel)
Mathematics - Higher Tier (Edexcel)
Combined Science: Trilogy - Higher Tier (AQA)
French - Higher Tier (AQA)
Music (OCR)
Computer Science (Edexcel)
Business Studies (Edexcel)
Dance (AQA)

I feel a bit excited about Year 11 but also a bit nervous, since I need to revise more for my GCSE exams in 2023 (hopefully I will pass!).
In my spare time, I like to watch a bit of TV (most likely comedies for a reason) and read a lot of books. I also play games in my spare time as well on the Nintendo Switch.
By the end of the year, I will aim for:
English Language = 7
English Literature = 7
Mathematics - Higher Tier = 6
Combined Science: Trilogy - Higher Tier = 6
French - Higher Tier = 8/9
Music = 6/7
Computer Science = 7
Business Studies = 6/7
Dance = 6

After Year 11, I will choose my A-levels that I find much easier, for my university application, e.g. Biology. Then, I'll go to Sixth Form in my school. I will miss my secondary school years as well.

My top revision technique is to use your flashcards, mind-maps, or a mix of both, for the best results possible.

:smile:GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR GCSE EXAMINATIONS EVERYONE!:smile:

Why business studies over economics?
