No it was series I’m fairly sure - what did people get for the moments question?

Good haha-I spent a few mins thinking about if it was in parallel but good

Equated the moment if Tension in y to wight

It was in parallel but since its resistance is infinite the total R in that combination is still the R of the resistor. Aka the transistor doesn't affect it

Oh yes I thought you meant the resistor being in series with ldr

What did you write in part B,does it heat faster when the frequency increases

I waffled about it being at peak current for a longer time so heats quicker idk

Thought a higher f would meam it would alternate faster so rate of change of mag flux increases. So eddy currents increase. Heats faster

I said rate of change of flux linkage increases, so emf induced increases and it heats up more + at a faster rate

Yeh makes more sense than mine

What did you get for the cricket one? I thought that they would catch it @ like 2.15m height
Reply 88
yes i got roughly the same !

Great. 11.5Ns and 38.5 degrees for the vectors?

Also I thought the transistor/lux one would trigger at 30lux or about 3000ohm because using the potential divider equation it was exactly 0.7V. Graph was weird though

Yup. Its a log graph

Can u send Me a schematic of how ur vector diagram roughly looked like

The one question I found strange was the moments one because it was asking the force on the horizontal beam from x. I initially thought tension but just decided that the force on y from x wasn’t a component so it was like 500N or smth.

Was literally just a big triangle with a line connecting the ends of the drawn vectors

Oof I think I did a/o for inverse tan

You can do it with trig but it said specifically use the vector diagram
