What should we do and eat on the day of the exam

Hi,

I know for most of us, our fist gcse/a level exams are starting next week and i was wondering what we should do the day of the exam and what we should eat. Do you guys recommend drinking coffee before an exam, having a large breakfast. What if the exam is in the afternoon. What should we do then
Hey @vesq

Get enough sleep the night before and wake up at least a couple hours before your exam if it's in the morning to give your brain time to adjust. Rolling out of bed late and rushing in doing last min cramming on the bus to school or college is not the way to go!

Some good brain foods would be slow release carbohydrates like oatmeal, some good protein like nuts or dried fruit to snack on, bananas are great too. Avoid anything too sugary. Coffee is OK if it's something you're used to and doesn't normally make you feel jittery or anxious. Most importantly stay hydrated and don't forget to drink water through the day

If you've got an afternoon exam, have some snacks in your bag or a decent lunch before you go in. Wholegrain pasta is a good slow release carbohydrate as well.

Good luck for your exams!
