regarding selection of university

Hey guys!! I have a offer to study business from Newcastle university and University of Southampton for my undergraduate degree. I am confused which one to go with. Please share your experience from both university and help me figure out which one to choose. Also, tell me about the student life in both the cities and future opportunities.

The first thing to consider is which course do you prefer? Compare the modules for all years of your course and, if there are any optional modules, think about what you would choose. Do either of the courses offer placement opportunities - these can add a lot to your graduate CV.

Then look at locations - compare accommodation and living costs (you can usually find this info on the uni websites), clubs/societies, entertainment options, ease of travel to your home, etc.

Newcastle is a great student city. I don't know much about Southampton.

Thank you for replying! Can you tell me what is the importance of a placement year because I am getting it in Southampton but not in Newcastle.

If an employer has a choice between two graduates with similar qualifications but one also has work experience from a placement, then the candidate with work experience is going to be more attractive.

okay, thank you very much. Do you have any more information regarding the comparison of both university's business schools? Like which one is advanced between Newcastle uni business School and Southampton business school for business management?

Hi @jordan eli

Our Business Management BA Honours programme does include the opportunity to do a work placement. You can spend 9 to 12 months working in an organization either in the UK or internationally.

Work placements take place between stages 2 and 3. If you choose to take a work placement, it will extend your degree by a year. Placements are subject to availability and must be secured by the student. However, you would receive University support from our dedicated team to help you apply for work placements.

Hana
