Consider the values of x3 and x4 to 3dp.
hi! what it wants is for you to give an inequality (interval) where the difference between the two numbers (the 'width') is 0.001, that contains x3 and x4. we know that it wants it to contain x3 and x4 because the iterative formula finds the solution by going above, below, above, etc, so we know the solution must be between our two most recent values. x3 = 1.5743 and x4 = 1.5748 so as the difference between the two is 0.0005 we have several possible inequalities that would satisfy our requirements, but the answer that uses the roundest numbers is 1.574 <= a <= 1.575

hope this helps!

But how would I know to consider those and now x1 and x2
like in an exam

Successive iteration values are converging towards the actual root, so considering x3 and x4 will give you a narrower interval.
