Congratulations on getting into university!
It’s perfectly normal to be scared but I guarantee you will feel at home in no time.
With regards to Fresher’s tickets, It’s very much a personal choice. It’s common for third party companies to offer these without the SU knowing anything about it. Still make sure to check the legitimacy as much as you can, scams do unfortunately happen. In my personal experience every event a Freshers wristband gets you into also has individual tickets for sale closer to the time, so unless you’re interested in a majority of the events I would try and look for those individual tickets.
There’s a lot of pressure to feel you need to meet people in the first week of Uni but there’s no harm in taking your time to settle in and start socialising once you’re ready. Most student cities will have events going on all year round.
