Audi A3. Automatic handbrake release

I’ve bought an A3 manual but am struggling big time trying to release the handbrake automatically - door closed and seatbelt fastened

Previously had a car with a manual handbrake

Any tips would be great

You wouldn't normally need to do anything to the handbrake release button it should release by itself when you set off.

If not give the control 'button' and push down gently or drive away gently and it should release automatically without you touching it. If that doesn't work try reverse and then try forwards again with some more revs.

There is a slim chance the motor or mechanism controlling the automatic brake release has stopped working so if you have done all of the above contact your garage for advice.
