What laptop for Architecture?

I'm looking into buying a laptop for my Architecture course at University.

Does anyone have any idea what laptop to get? (Not MacBooks).

All I know is that the laptop should be strong enough to support software like Sketch Up and rendering software for when I create building designs.
I recommend that you don't buy one before you go. Your department will likely have pcs for use by students and the first year focuses more on hand drawing rather than the use of software. You'll be able to get recommendations from staff and students in years 2 and 3 when you're there. My son chose a gaming laptop (Asus Tuf) because the graphics card can cope with the software (but he's also a gamer).
Try Microsoft's laptop. They have one model that has pretty well equipped hardware.

but not as heavy as gaming laptops from other brands. It's the heaviest laptop amongst Microsoft's models I think.
