Hi,

With those predicted grades you would be at the top of the standard entry requirements for Heriot-Watt Universities BSc (Hons) Computer Science Degree or even apply to go into the second year of that degree if you wish. Or any of the Computer Science (____) degrees.

I just finished my first year of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) so if you have any questions about Heriot or the course, please feel free to ask! Or even if you decide Heriot is not for you if you have any questions about applying for unis or what to take to uni or anything like that, I'll also be happy to answer those as well.

Hi,

You can post any questions here if you like so others with the same questions can see or if you would prefer you can message me through the student room.

The course is great. So far it's just straight Computer science as you specialise later on so you are together will all the CS students. I've had great teachers this year that bring in anecdotes and extra information to keep you really interested in the topic. I've loved that as a degree CS has a lot of coursework so exams are less stressful but also you can see your progress as you go. I liked the variety of content covered from how to make websites to general software development to learning about how to get ahead for careers after uni. The fact that I can message my teachers with any questions big and small and not feel judged or like I'm wasting their time. It's hard to think of everything off the top of my head but it's been a really amazing year for me.

The University is so pretty. It's on a big sort of estate and this year I've seen about a million squirrels, a lot of rabbits, ducks, swans and some deer as well which I love as it lets you decompress a little from deadlines and exam season. As for facilities, the library is lovely. I'd say it's like 80% study space and 20% books, but honestly, that's preferable for me, the sofa seats in the library are so so comfy and they have a cafe in there to keep you fuelled up for revising if you need it. Another study space is the Grid which is this really modern-looking glass building around the pond that has an electronic lab and a lot of computers. The grid is gorgeous and is my go-to if I'm doing a little less intense studying. As for the rest of the uni, it's lovely, some of the lecture theatres look like they're straight out of an American movie, the uni has a great little shop for picking up a meal deal or sweets or a much-needed energy drink, a Starbucks in case you prefer that and some amazing food places. We have the Oriam on site which is Scotlands National Performance Centre but also used by us students which is a very fancy sports centre and where a lot of our sports clubs practice.

That's everything I can think of right now but if you have any more questions just let me know
