economics wider reading

im a 16 year old student who's just finished their gcses, i want to spend this summer focusing on strengthening my resume and knowledge in economics as i want to study this at uni.

i have books that explain the basic rules of economics and also staples like the invisible hand and the wealth of nations, but i'd rarely ever reference books like that.. how can i read actual economics publications and current relevant economic literature ( not like freaknomics but more so like a study by a uni professor )

thanks so much any tips are appreciated
