I d go for EFDS for sure as it offers a wider range of options for future careers and study(you can choose machine learning if you want) and besides pure finance it offers u opportunity to transform into a data scientist in future phds.

Sounds good, my only issue is that I don't do further maths (school didn't offer it) so I'm wondering how much I'd need to catch up on to be at a suitable level in terms of mathematical ability

don't pnaic that much, i d say admissions are more familiar with course so if they are not asking for FM then it is fine without it
