tips for going into second year of biomedical sciences?

Any tips for preparing for second year of biomed? for context I wasn't very serious in first year and didn't study the content much, just winged the exams and barely passed but I want to do better this year and get a 2:1/1st class hopefully.

Do i need to go over the content from last year or can i just rely on the information from second year modules? Thanks!!!

The second year content builds on what you have learnt in the first year that's why there are optional modules that have pre requesits so if you don't understand the previous content or have a basic understanding your not going to be able to keep up with the work in second year which normally is part of the final grade
