Not being praised at work?

I always strive to improve at work. Whenever I create creative content everyone turns a blind eye, but if someone produces content which has a bit more specialism to it everyone just praises them.

I read my job description and learned about the company before applying and I was unaware that they have a speciality of creative content.

I never have the same praise as everyone else. I honestly thought I would have the same recognition but I just feel invisible and ignored.

I worked hard to be where I am. If someone produces specialist content they get a lot of praise from the whole team. If I produce normal content to a high standard, I get no praise.

Instead I'm just being told negative stuff. I believe in myself that I'm a good creative content creator, I don't know why other people don't believe in me :frown:

It's really soul destroying not to get any encouragement. That said, do your job, do your job well to your own high standards and know that you have done well. Don't expect any praise and know sadly that is as it is.

Then start digging an escape tunnel. Start searching, looking for a new job, here or abroad. No one says you have to remain in a position where life is dead end. Look at every job you wouldn't normally apply for. Cast your net far and wide.

The trick is to bide your time and carefully plan for when an opportunity arises. Don't rush in. For now your head can be soothed knowing you are leaving. That is your psyche. You will be free very soon and just enjoy your time. As long as you fulfil your role profile you can stand on your head for £x per hour. New jobs will either be better or worse, and there is only one way to find out. But if you don't make the move and have the courage to try something new and make it happen you will never know.

A new work crowd can make all the difference between a happy 8 hours and a seemingly endless never ending 8 hours.
