Snapchat etiquette??

Got snapchat a while ago but only started using it recently. Loads of people have been adding me (not bots, i can tell if theyre bots because their snap score is like 6😂) then sending me a snap, so i send one back, then they send another one.

Not sure if im just thick but what am i meant to do after that? I feel like if i send another one straight after that itd just turn into constantly sending snaps without talking n it feels weird so i usually wait a like an hour to send back but i feel like im doing something wrong.

Idk just what are the general like “rules” of using the app? I see all my mates using it and they have a whole system they go through and i just cant wrap my head around it
