Irish qualifications

Can anyone tell me what 3 H1s , 2H2s and 2 H3s would convert to in A level? Would it be good enough to get on AAA course?
Thank you

Hey @Timara  What is it you would like to study? I'd recommend getting in touch with the universities you'd like to apply for and they'll be able to let you know best for their entry requirements. Some courses might require particular subjects at a certain grade at Higher level for example.

For some rough guidance you could use the UCAS tariff calculator: https://www.ucas.com/ucas/tariff-calculator, but I'd still encourage you to get in touch with admissions teams in case there's anything else you need to know.

Most UK Unis will have Irish entry requirements on their course pages - and if they haven't then just email and ask.

There isn't a simple 'conversion' because Irish quals incorporate more subjects than A levels - and every subject at every Uni will be asking for different grades. Here are examples are advice from Leeds (https://www.leeds.ac.uk/admissions-qualifications/19578/ireland-(republic-of)) and Surrey (https://www.surrey.ac.uk/ireland/entry-requirements) but you MUST check with individual Unis - don't just 'assume'.

Hi,

Speaking as an Irish student who has had the same question, I would recommend you contact your university admissions team and ask them to explain their Irish equivalent as sometimes it's not quite as simple as the grades. A lot of courses in the UK require Maths and English at a certain grade for Irish students so I would double-check all of this with the admissions teams to ensure you have everything they need.

I hope this helps and best of luck with your application,
