GCSE equivalent used for Medicine Entry for Irish students

GCSE equivalent used for Medicine Entry for Irish students

Many universities are unclear on the equivalent qualifications used for GCSE's for Irish students. The unis I've found that do have the equivalents up, like Cardiff, only take the Leaving cert into account but others like Queens Belfast and Edinburgh use the Junior Cert.
If information isn't provided from other universities on the junior cert, should I just assume they don't take it into account?
Any help would be great!
