HI looking at being a student nurse in london no previous degree study no dependants under 18.No parents dead.Going to live in essex outside london travel into greater london any advise on loan/grant i will receive for 2024.experience welcome as it states it is done on where live & study so concerned lesser amount as on border of london classed as outer.

If you are eligible for student finance, then you will be able to apply to the NHS Learning Support Fund for an additional annual training grant of £5,000 and other support. More info here:

Hi Peter,

We won't know the London rate details for 24/25 till when the applications open up next year. This is normally February/March time. Keep checking our website for further updates.

Hi thanks for reply more i wanted to know if i travel into london from borders will i still be entitled to london rate?As i will be studying fulltime in london greater area.Yet i will be living on outskirts with family.

Based on this it sounds like you'll get the London rate. Just to let you know, we award the London rate of Maintenance Loan automatically. So, you'll be awarded it if you're entitled to it, rest assured.
