Question

The quantity y is inversely proportional to a power of x for x>0.
2hen x=1,y=sqrt 2 and when x=8,y=1/2.
Can somebody solve it .
As here are given two informations and asking for a single equation.
Firstly y=k/(x^n) when y=1/2, x = 8 and substitute so,
1/2=k/(8^n) and 2k= 8^n and when y=sqrt2, x=1 so,
sqrt2=k/(1^n)
Thus k = sqrt2 and substitute the value into 2k=8^n To solve for n and thus get your final equation.
