Student life at YSJ

Hi everyone!

I'm Lauren I am a student ambassador in my second year at YSJ studying law.

Starting university can feel overwhelming but do not worry everyone around you is in the same boat. There are various events that run weekly for you to get involved in on campus, such as quiz night on Tuesdays at the SU and pound a pint karaoke!

All our societies like Dance offer social events usually with a fun theme. There are various societies to choose from this is a great way to make friends who have similar interests to you. If there isn't one that interests you all you need is 5 people to create your own and the SU will help you get started!

The staff and students are very warm and welcoming. One of the main things that made me choose this university was the lovely community feel to it. The campus and the city of York itself is beautiful and really does feel like a second home and I also feel very safe here. From experience, I know that this can be a worry for most if not all students.

I can proudly say that choosing to come to YSJ is one of the best decisions I've made.
